[Basic Information]
The Center for International Energy and Environment Strategy Studies, Renmin University of China (CIEESS) was found in 2003. Its major research stuff which comprise of scholars and experts of School of International Studies of Renmin University of China, with full disciplinary expertise in International Politics and Economics. The Center has developed partnership relations on joint research and education with Schools and Institutes of Renmin University of China, such as School of Economics, Law School, School of Finance, and outstanding foreign colleges and think tanks, like The Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University, Center for Strategic and International Studies, Brookings Institution, International Institute for Strategic Studies, Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, Lowy Institute for International Policy, The Institute of Energy Economics of Japan, The Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, National Energy Security Fund of Russia, City University of Hong Kong.

The Center has the Academic Committee and Expert Committee, and 6 research divisions.
Now there are 16 academic resident fellows in the Center, whose research fields cover Energy Politics, Energy Economics, Industrial History, Climate Politics, Energy Organizations, etc. Almost 95% of all the fellows have attained doctor’s degree and 47% from overseas academic institutions.

The Center has established close scientific relations with public sector and business society. The Center has received research fund from Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Organization Department of CCCPC, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Commerce, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Land and Resources, National Energy Administration, Municipal government of Chongqing, National Energy Conservation Center and China National Petroleum Corp., China National Offshore Oil Corp., etc.
The Center has published 8 annual series, 27 books in Chinese and English, research reports and 436 academic articles. The Center also organizes regular academic events, such as Energy Dialogue and China International Energy Cooperation Forum.
