China's major power plants generated 680.1 billion kilowatt-hours of power in July, up 1.9 percent year on year, data showed.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the growth rate is 4.6 percentage points lower than that of June.
Thermal power production edged down 0.7 percent year on year in July, while power generated by nuclear plants and wind farms grew 6.7 percent and 23.2 percent, respectively, the NBS said.
During the first seven months of the year, China's major power plants generated about 4.05 trillion kilowatt-hours of power, down 0.9 percent over the same period last year.
