China Evergrande Group has cooperated with five world-leading automotive engineering technology enterprises to further optimize its industrial chain layout in the new energy vehicle (NEV) field.
The group's auto subsidiary Evergrande New Energy Automobile Group on Wednesday signed a strategic cooperation agreement on vehicle research and development design with five leading firms from Germany, Austria and Canada.
Under the agreement, Evergrande will work with the five automotive firms to jointly develop 15 new automobile models.
The cooperation is the newest step amid the group's efforts to develop into the world's largest NEV company within the next three to five years and
Evergrande also sets the goal of producing and selling a total of five million NEVs annually in 10 years.
After tapping into the NEV market last year, Evergrande has struck a raft of deals with European companies to boost development of its NEV products.
