The 2019 Global Energy Interconnection & China-Africa Energy and Power Conference will be held in Beijing next month to discuss and strengthen cooperation on sustainable development in the energy industry.
The conference, hosted by China-proposed Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO), will center on green development in global energy interconnection and clean energy in Africa.
More than 600 representatives from government organs in over 60 countries, international organizations, enterprises and colleges are expected to participate in the conference, according to the GEIDCO.
The conference will also see several sub-forums on energy interconnection in Africa, as well as an equipment exhibition to promote project investment.
During the conference, which will run from Nov. 4 to 7, the GEIDCO will release two research reports on fostering energy interconnection in Africa, and sign several cooperation agreements in the area.
The organization, the first of its kind initiated by China in the energy sector, aims to promote the establishment of global energy interconnection to meet power demand with clean and green alternatives.
It has set up regional offices and joint offices globally since its establishment in March 2016.
