Jing Junhai, governor of Northeast China’s Jilin province, attended a discussion with the delegation from Liaoyuan on Jan 13, during which he urged the city to take more action expanding the new energy vehicle sector.
The discussion was part of the third session of the 13th Jilin Provincial People's Congress, which opened in the capital Changchun city on the previous day.
Deputies from Liaoyuan city delivered reports on the city’s development in new energy vehicles and related industries.
During the meeting, Jing said that the city should put more efforts in developing the new energy vehicle sector and conduct research into its technologies.
He also advocated accelerating construction of the production plants, support for local businesses, introducing advanced technologies and highly-skilled personnel, as well as moves to attract investment.
Liaoyuan companies could cooperate with the FAW Group, a Chinese carmaker based in Changchun, to broaden the market, Jing noted.
The city should also provide better services for companies and establish a better business environment to attract investment, the governor added.
