The Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a 20 million-U.S. dollar loan agreement with China Gas Holdings Co., Ltd. Tuesday to shore up supply of natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas in Wuhan and other hard-hit regions in Hubei Province by the COVID-19 epidemic.
The aid helps to ensure the continuous supply of basic power sources in Hubei, Director General of ADB's Private Sector Operations Department Mike Barrow said.
It is conducive to meeting the cities' short-term financing demand while boosting their resistance against the epidemic to continue their fight, Barrow added.
China Gas is a gas operator that provides natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas to residents and businesses.
Liu Minghui, chairman of the China Gas, said the company would also provide food delivery services to communities with traffic restrictions.
