Shanghai crude oil futures open higher

Crude oil futures opened higher Friday in daytime trading on the Shanghai International Energy Exchange.

The most active crude oil contract for June delivery was up 8.8 yuan (about 1.24 U.S. dollars) to open at 229.8 yuan a barrel.

China launched the crude oil futures trading, which is open to overseas investors, in March 2018.
