China's crude oil output rose 0.9 percent year on year to 15.87 million tonnes last month, returning to growth from the 0.1-percent decline in March, official data showed.
During the same period, China processed about 53.85 million tonnes of crude oil, up 0.8 percent year on year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
In the first four months this year, China's crude oil output edged up 2.0 percent year on year to 64.44 million tonnes, and the country processed about 203.48 million tonnes of crude oil, down 3.4 percent from a year ago.
In April, China imported 40.43 million tonnes of crude oil, declining 7.5 percent year on year.
