Crude oil futures opened higher Tuesday in daytime trading on the Shanghai International Energy Exchange.
The most active crude oil contract for July delivery was up 15.1 yuan (about 2.13 U.S. dollars) to open at 278.1 yuan a barrel.
China launched the crude oil futures trading, which is open to overseas investors, in March 2018.
