Crude oil futures opened higher Thursday in daytime trading on the Shanghai International Energy Exchange.
The most active crude oil contract for September 2020 delivery was up 0.1 yuan to open at 283.8 yuan (about 40.5 U.S. dollars) a barrel.
China launched the crude oil futures trading, which is open to overseas investors, in March 2018.
