Join Hands towards a Greener and More Inclusive Energy Future
The National Energy Administration of the People’s Republic of China (NEA) will organize, in Qingdao, Shandong, the Second Belt and Road Energy Ministerial Conference in the form of a hybrid conference on October 18-19, 2021, in collaboration with the Shandong Provincial People’s Government.
With the theme of Join Hands towards a Greener and More Inclusive Energy Future, the conference will be organized in a hybrid mode combining virtual and in-person components. The opening ceremony, the release ceremony of conference outcomes and the high-level plenary meeting will be held on October 18, while the technical tour and the sub-forums will be organized on October 19. Energy ministers and ambassadors to China as well as heads of international organizations will be invited to attend the conference.
The conference will release outcomes: Adoption of the Terms of Reference of the Belt and Road Energy Partnership、Launch the Qingdao Initiative for Belt and Road Green Energy Cooperation、Awarding Certificates for BREP Best Practice Case、Membership Expansion Ceremony of the Belt and Road Energy Partnership、Establishment of the Belt and Road Energy Partnership Cooperation Network.
We are in the hope that the conference will help build closer partnership network within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, encourage countries to join hands and respond to the challenges of energy transition and security together, push forward wider, better-quality and deeper regional cooperation through pragmatic cooperation while upholding the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, thus creating a cooperation and win-win result in which countries mutually reinforce one another.
