Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Tajik counterpart, Emomali Rahmon, on Tuesday exchanged congratulations on the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Since China and Tajikistan established diplomatic relations 30 years ago, bilateral ties have developed by leaps and bounds and reached the highest level in history, Xi noted.
Especially in recent years, Xi said, the two countries have taken the lead in building a community of development and a community of security, setting an example of jointly building a community with a shared future for mankind.
The two sides enjoy deepening strategic mutual trust, firm mutual support on issues concerning each other's core interests, and booming cooperation in various fields, he said, adding that their high-quality Belt and Road cooperation has also achieved fruitful results.
Facing the COVID-19 pandemic, the people of the two countries have worked together and helped each other, demonstrating the bond between two brothers sharing weal and woe, he added.
Xi also stressed that he attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations, and stands ready to work with Rahmon to take the 30th anniversary as an opportunity to push for new results in the two countries' comprehensive strategic partnership, and build a closer China-Tajikistan community with a shared future for the benefit of both countries and their people.
For his part, Rahmon said he would like to extend his sincerest congratulations and best wishes to Xi and the friendly Chinese people at this important moment in the history of bilateral relations.
Tajikistan-China friendship and win-win cooperation in various fields have witnessed sustained development, and the two countries have reached a high level of their comprehensive strategic partnership and accumulated creative experience, Rahmon said.
The bilateral relationship, he added, is mutually beneficial and based on good-neighborliness, friendship, mutual respect and mutual trust, and represents a new type of high-quality relations between countries.
Expressing satisfaction with the current development of bilateral relations, Rahmon said he firmly believes that Tajikistan-China relations will keep forging ahead into a brighter future.
