The eighth edition of the "Solar Expo Morocco" kicked off on Tuesday in the Moroccan financial capital of Casablanca, showcasing the enormous potential of solar energy in Morocco and Africa.
The three-day show aims to strengthen the dynamics of the solar energy and energy efficiency sector in Morocco and in the African continent.
It also aims to help to support ambitious national renewable energy programs, contribute to the creation of a synergy among different operators in this field and allow professionals to strengthen their energy cooperation with the rest of the world.
The event hosts more than 100 exhibitors from Morocco and other countries and expects to welcome 800 visitors.
Morocco is a major regional hub in the field of solar energy.
With 35 percent of its energy coming from renewable sources, the north African country aims to increase the share of renewable energies in its energy mix to 42 percent in 2020 and 52 percent of its electricity from clean energy by 2030.
