The fifth Exposition for Investment and Trade of Advanced Equipment Manufacturing on the West Bank of the Pearl River (the AEME Expo) will be held in Foshan, South China’s Guangdong province from Sept 20 to 22.
Sponsored by the Foshan municipal government and the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province, this year's AEME Expo will be co-hosted by the cities of Zhuhai, Shaoguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Yangjiang, Zhaoqing, and Yunfu.
Zhao Hai, deputy mayor of Foshan, said that the expo will be a high-level professional exhibition with influence both at home and abroad.
There will be three exhibition halls, each covering an area of about 10,000 square meters. The expo contains four main parts, namely exhibitions and trade fairs, project signings, investment promotions, as well as industry forums.
In addition, the expo will hold activities to promote regional cooperation among major cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, further enhance the area's overall competitiveness, and build the advanced equipment manufacturing industrial belt on the west bank of the Pearl River into a modern industrial base with global influence.
Compared with the previous expos, this year's AEME Expo will make improvements in terms of smartization, greenization, and servitization. Many of the exhibits will make their debut appearance in China through the expo, while some are completely China-designed ones, realizing the localization of high-end equipment.
A variety of platforms, such as professional forums and experiential exhibitions, will be used to showcase the new technologies, new business formats, and new modes of the industries of robotics, smart manufacturing, and new-energy vehicles, aiming to attracting more domestic and overseas investment in the Greater Bay Area.
Wu Yuguang, deputy director-general of the province's Department of Industry and Information Technology, expressed hope that the 5th AEME Expo could show the latest achievements of the advanced equipment manufacturing industrial belt on the west bank of the Pearl River in the construction of the Greater Bay Area, as well as attract more enterprises and projects to this region to promote the development of the region’s industry.
Development of the advanced equipment manufacturing industry belt on the west bank of the Pearl River, which is an important support for promoting the high-quality development of the province's manufacturing industry, has been written into the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
From 2015 to 2018, the total added value of the equipment manufacturing industry on the west bank of the Pearl River was 1.15 trillion yuan ($163.42 billion), with an average annual growth rate of 11.8 percent. From January to June of this year, the added value of the equipment manufacturing industry in Foshan totaled 64.19 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.9 percent.
