State Power Economic Research Institute, a research and development institution directly under State Grid Corporation of China, is responsible for the centralized management of State Grid’s power grid planning and engineering design technology, provides technical and intellectual support for the development of the company's power grid, and builds an economic research system, offers business guidance to provincial and municipal economic research institutes. It is responsible for coordinating external design units, along with power grid planning, engineering design, project review, technical economy, as well as the research and formulation of relevant standards, which is the advisory body recognized by the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China to undertake the tasks entrusted by the state for investment consulting and evaluation.
