The price of regular gasoline increased significantly across the United States as crude oil price topped 58 dollars per barrel in the past week.
According to a report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Monday, the average regular gasoline retail price increased over 10 cents from the previous week to over 2.65 U.S. dollars per gallon for the week ending September 23.
Meanwhile, crude oil price at The New York Mercantile Exchange, or Nymex, moved above 58 dollars per barrel in the past week as worries over Saudi oil supply persists.
For West Coast area in the United States, which includes the states of California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Alaska and Hawaii, gasoline price rose more than 8 cents to about 3.34 dollars per gallon, according to the EIA.
For Rocky Mountain area, which includes the states of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and Idaho, gasoline price increased more than 4 cents to nearly 2.7 dollars per gallon.
For the Gulf Coast area, which includes the states of Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas and New Mexico, the gasoline price rose 12 cents to over 2.35 dollars per gallon.
For Midwest area, which the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee are located, gasoline price increased nearly 13 cents to about 2.59 dollars per gallon.
For the East Coast area, which includes all other states close to the Atlantic Ocean, the price increased nearly 9 cents to over 2.54 dollars per gallon.
