Saudi Arabia will cut its emission by using more renewable energy, Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman said Tuesday.
"By 2030, we will be developing our gas resources. We will be a quite big (consumer) in terms of renewable (energy) use," said the minister at the Future Sustainability Summit held in Abu Dhabi.
The minister added that by using more cleaner resources to generate power, the kingdom will free more oil for export.
Last week, the kingdom launched the third round of its renewable energy program, which aims to add a total of 1.2 GW of solar photovoltaic power capacity to the grid.
