Mongolia has declared 2020 as the year of human resource development in the energy sector, the country's Energy Minister Tserenpil Davaasuren said Thursday.
"Our country has set a goal to create a smart system in the energy sector. To develop the smart system, we have to focus on the human resource development in this sector," Davaasuren said at a news conference.
Within the framework of the year, a series of measures will be implemented to provide training for engineers in the sector and improve their work environment, the minister added.
There are around 12,000 people currently working in the energy sector, of which around 4,000 are engineers, according to the country's ministry of energy.
