“You throw a peach to me, and I give you a white jade for friendship.” It is a traditional virtue in China to repay goodwill with greater kindness. On March 29, China's aids to Pakistan for epidemic prevention arrived in Islamabad.

In February, when the epidemic was severe in China, Pakistan mobilized all its national efforts to collect anti-epidemic materials and donated them to China. With the severe epidemic situation now in Pakistan, China has sent medical teams of experts and donated anti-epidemic materials to Pakistan in batches, which shows the profound friendship between China and Pakistan.

In Pakistan, there is a power plant of China Huaneng Group, the Sahiwal Power Plant, which is operated by China Huaneng Shandong Ruyi (Pakistan) Energy Co., Ltd. With the total installed capacity of 1320MW, the plant is one of the largest coal-fired power plants in Pakistan and has filled more than a quarter of the country's power gap since its commissioning in 2017. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, 108 Chinese employees and 199 Pakistani employees of the power plant have stuck to the front line, sparing no effort to ensure the power supply and stable production and operation.

As of March 30, Sahiwal Power Plant has been in continuous safe production for more than 1000 days, with a total power generation of 23.7 billion kWh. From January 1 to March 30 this year alone, the power station has generated electricity of 1.781 billion kWh, meeting the electricity demand of 4 million local households and over 20 million people. As a result, it has effectively eased the power shortage in Pakistan.
