U.S. crude oil production decreased during the week ending June 12, U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said Wednesday.
According to the EIA, U.S. crude oil production averaged 10.5 million barrels per day (b/d) last week, down by 600,000 b/d from the previous week and down by 1.7 million b/d from this time last year.
Oil prices fell on Wednesday after data showed a rise in U.S. crude stockpiles.
The West Texas Intermediate for July delivery lost 42 cents to settle at 37.96 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, while Brent crude for August delivery decreased 25 cents to close at 40.71 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
