Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga on Tuesday said that Japan will compile an additional economic package.
"We will maintain employment, keep businesses going, revive the economy and open a path to growth including through green and digital technology," Suga said of the package at a meeting of the government and ruling parties.
The package will be to the tune of 707 billion U.S. dollars and has been compiled with the aim of helping to mitigate the negative economic impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Later in the day, Suga's Cabinet will likely approve the stimulus package.
