Belarus will raise the rate for oil transportation through its territory by 6.6 percent starting from Feb. 1, 2021, the country's ministry of antimonopoly regulation and trade said on Friday.
In August 2020, Gomeltransneft Druzhba, JSC initiated a discussion of an unscheduled revision of the transit rate, while the Russian party did not support. The Belarusian company proposed to increase the rate for oil transportation in 2021 by 24.5 percent to compensate for lost revenues in 2020.
The parties could not reach a mutually acceptable decision regarding the increase, the ministry said.
In accordance with the approved methodology, in the absence of a solution agreed by the parties, the tariff is increased by the forecast inflation rate in Russia plus 3 percentage points no later than Feb. 1, the ministry said.
