The European Union and Morocco are working to reach a partnership to jointly develop greener energy, Ursula von der Leyen, visiting European Commission President, said Wednesday in Rabat.
"This partnership is the first one that we are developing with a partner country," she said during the talks with the Moroccan prime minister Aziz Akhannouch.
Talking to the press following the meeting, von der Leyen reiterated the willingness of the European Union to continue to deepen the "strategic, close and solid" partnership with Morocco.
For his part, Akhannouch said that Morocco seeks to move forward in its partnership with the EU through the implementation of major projects.
Akhannouch added that many topics were discussed including cooperation in green energy, digital transition, investment, economic recovery, and the promotion of culture.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Rabat on Tuesday.
