Israel launched Tuesday a 155-million-U.S. dollar plan to improve the environment in the cities and villages of the country's Arab sector.
The program will focus on waste treatment and climate change, the Israeli Ministry of Environmental Protection said in a statement.
For years, residents of the Arab settlements have been suffering from environmental pollution, which threatens the health and life quality, the statement added.
Data mentioned in the statement show significant gaps in waste treatment, recycling, and renewable energy infrastructure in the Arab sector compared to the national average.
