Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and his visiting Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon agreed on Thursday to promote cooperation in the field of security.
"We agreed on enhancing security cooperation, exchanging information and experiences in the field of combating terrorism and organized crime," Sisi said in a televised joint press conference.
The two leaders also discussed the possibility of making more concerted efforts to maximize the utilization of water resources, and of cooperating on hydropower, mining, agriculture, tourism, health and medicine production.
They witnessed the signing of two memorandums of understanding (MoU) in the field of agriculture, sport and education.
Rahmon praised the signed MoUs as "a pillar for alleviating the mutual ties."
