Energy companies from the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye and France have won tenders to build and operate three solar power plants with a total capacity of 500 megawatts (MW) in Uzbekistan, the Uzbek Energy Ministry said on Thursday.
According to the results of the tender, Abu Dhabi-based Masdar was awarded to construct a 250 MW project in Bukhara region with a proposal of 3,044 U.S. cents per kilowatt-hour of produced electricity, the ministry said.
Masdar's project will also have a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with a capacity of 62 MW, it added.
Türkiye's Alarko company has won a project with a capacity of 150 MW in the Namangan region at 4,828 cents per kilowatt-hour, according to the announcement.
The project with a capacity of 100 MW in Khorezm region was awarded to France's Voltalia company that offered 2,888 U.S. cents per kilowatt-hour, the ministry said.
