Release Date:2018-08-09 09:16:42     Source:Xinhua     Author:Shi Yinglun

Esraa Sultan, the third Turkish power barge arriving in Lebanon, will start producing electricity Thursday morning, independent online news Elnashra reported Tuesday.

"The barge will produce 100 megawatts to 120 megawatts of electricity which will secure between 22 hours to 24 hours of power production for Kesrouan and part of Jbeil and Metn areas," said the statement.

It added that Esraa Sultan is capable of producing 235 megawatts of electricity but it won't be able to produce more than 100 megawatts to 120 megawatts for Kesrouan while it would have been able to produce only 40 megawatts for Jiyyeh.

The third Turkish power barge arrived in Lebanon weeks ago and was moved from Jiyyeh to Zouk Mikael on Monday.

Esraa Sultan in Zouk will compensate electricity production for two damaged power stations in this area.

The new power barge will produce electricity for free for the first three months.
