Russian natural gas company Gazprom will be ready to start gas supplies via Nord Stream 2 in January 2020, the CEO of Gazprom Alexey Miller said at the International Gas Forum in St. Petersburg on Thursday.
According to Miller, the first Nord Stream has been operating with a 7 percent increase in planned capacity over the past 12 months.
This indicates the demand for new gas corridors from Russia to Europe. The Nord Stream 2 Nord Stream is an offshore natural gas pipeline from Vyborg in Russia to Greifswald in Germany.
The project includes two parallel lines with capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year.
