Ukraine's private company Tas Energy on Wednesday started exporting natural gas to Europe, the company said, marking the resumption of Ukraine's gas exports after 15 years of halt.
Tas Energy has delivered gas to Slovakia in a test mode, the company said on Facebook, without giving further details.
The supplies came after a two-fold reduction of tariffs for gas transportation services on cross-border entry and exit points to Ukraine's gas transit system starting from Jan. 1.
Last year, Ukraine's gas consumption stood at 28.5 billion cubic meters, of which 37.1 percent were imported from abroad.
