Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Monday inaugurated the third phase of a major gas condensate refinery in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas, official IRNA news agency reported.
Iran's gasoline production capacity will rise to 45 million liters per day by launching the third phase of the Persian Gulf Star Refinery, Rouhani said in the opening ceremony.
The refinery will also produce 12 million liters of gas oil, 3 million liters of liquefied gas and 2 million liters of jet fuel on the daily basis.
Mohammad Ali Dadvar, chief executive of the refinery, also said Monday that the daily production of 45 million liters of Euro-5 gasoline at the refinery will provide half of the country's daily gasoline consumption.
