Uzbekistan's state-run oil and gas company Uzbekneftegaz said Tuesday that it received a new industrial flow of natural gas in the eastern Andijan region.
The average daily flow of natural gas from the new well No. 7 of the Uchtepa field is 300,000 to 350,000 cubic meters, Uzbekneftegaz said in a statement.
"Well No. 7 was drilled to a depth of 1,350 meters, and now gas condensate studies will be conducted within 10 days to determine the parameters of the productive horizon (pressure, temperature, gas composition, etc.)" the statement said.
The field is located in the Bulakbashy district of the Andijan region.
Earlier, industrial gas inflows of up to 386,000 cubic meters a day were received from wells No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 1 of the same field, Uzbekneftegaz said.
Putting one more well into operation will help Uzbekneftegaz increase natural gas supplies to the population of the Fergana Valley, which suffers energy shortages, especially during winter.
