Mongolia will hold the 9th Coal Mongolia International Conference and Exhibition in its capital Ulan Bator in September to attract investment to the country's coal industry, organizers said Thursday.
The annual event will be held on Sept.5-6, the Mongolian Coal Association said in a statement.
Themed "Lead the market," the event is aimed at attracting more investment into the country's coal industry, introducing new technologies and strengthening competitiveness of the coal industry in the Asian market.
More than 3,000 representatives, including over 500 chief executive officers from mining companies across the world are expected to attend the event, according to the organizers.
Coal is the landlocked country's main export commodity. The Asian country exported a total of 36.5 million tons of coal in 2018, reaching an all-time high.
The Asian country has set the goal of increasing coal exports to 40 million tons in the coming years.
